What is CPD?

Continuing Professional Development is defined as the systematic maintenance, improvement and broadening of knowledge and skills, (The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) (1993)

Why do l have to engage in CPD?

CPD compliance is one of the conditions for maintenance and renewal of registration and it is compulsory for all registered professionals.

How does one upload their certificates?

Login to your profile (Council Website eg SACPCMP or ECSA)

Go to manage profile, click professional development

Then add entry

How many years is a cycle?

Five years from registration and all CPD cycles end on the 31st of March.

What is the structure of CPD activities and how many hours do l have to accumulate in a cycle?

It is recommended that Registered Professionals engage in activities in the following manner over the five (5) year cycle;

  • Category A: Core and Non- Core (60% = 30 Hours)
  • Category B: Mentorship and Development (20% = 10 Hours)
  • Category C: Ongoing Practice (20 % = 10 Hours)
